ACRO Internship Programme

We regularly sign up with students to enrol for our internship programme, for work experience, college projects, assignments or/and for learning purposes.

Before submitting your online forms, please read the following information carefully:
​
Be it a home or an overseas student, your application will only be considered if you conform to the entry requirements of the programme.
​
Entry requirements:
a) Education
​
ISC/IBDP/A Levels/AS Levels (students must either be enrolled in a school or writing their exams privately)
OR
​
-BA/BSc (Honours) in psychology or a subfield
OR
​
-BA/BSc regular with psychology as a major subject
​
OR
​
BA/B.Com/BBA/BSc or any equivalent undergraduate degree from a recognised university
​
​​
*Note: Students who are writing their exams privately either at the high school level or university level, must submit a soft copy of their student card/enrolment number and other details.
​
MA/MSc/MSW students with or any equivalent post-graduate degree (without a psychology major) can also apply.
​
​
b) Language requirements:
English language- You must be able to read, write and converse in the language fluently or close to a native speaker. Regional accents are not a problem.
The second language- It is not mandatory for you to be proficient at writing or reading the language. You need to be able to converse with clients of the same tongue.
​
​
i) English language + Hindi/Telugu (applicants from Hyderabad)
​​
ii) English language + their mother tongue/native language (applicants from different states/UTs)
​
iii) English language + one foreign language/their mother tongue/native language (all applicants from other countries must be well versed with a language of their choice. However, it is not mandatory to be proficient but encouraged to learn and pick up a second language)
​
c)Personal Statement:
A personal statement not exceeding 600 words is a mandatory pre-requisite for the programme. This can be uploaded on the online application or attached as a separate word document/image/PDF. Please explain and detail your reasons to apply for this programme and give a brief outline of the future goals you've thought about towards the end.

d) Previous Academic Qualifications
If you're a student enrolled in high school or a degree programme, a copy of each of your previous educational qualification is needed, which shows the list of subjects studied, along with the marks that you've obtained.
​
-If you have already completed your previous educational qualification or degree, a copy of your official degree will also be required. Applicants who possess academic documents in languages other than English must submit their official transcript as well as an official translated copy too.
​
e) Curriculum Vitae/Resume
A copy of your updated CV is required. Please ensure that you add demographic information, contact details, educational qualifications, work experience if any and a shortlist of skills and interests towards the end.

f) References
-Students approaching us for all school and college-related projects, must have a letter stating the objectives of the project on their institution's letterhead, along with the signatures of faculty members, HODs, and administrative staff.
​
-Academic or professional references are not mandatory or required if you're going to enrol out of interest.
​
e) Advantages of this course

f) Disadvantages of this course
- Working at a mental health facility can take a toll on your physical, emotional and mental health.
​
- You may burn out faster than you expected as working at a mental health clinic is exhaustive and tiresome.
​
-You may not be comfortable dealing with a few clients who come to our clinic.
​
- There are many legalities involved while you opt to work at a private mental health clinic.
​
- If you are a minor between the ages of 15-17 studying psychology, your parents or school will always have to be involved in everything you take up with the clinic.
​
​
How to apply:
Students are welcome to apply all year round and will be allotted a therapist according to their availability. All applicants are expected to pay ₹500 for the application and then complete an online application form. Please refer to the steps detailed below for your reference.
​
Step 1: You enquire about the programme via email or talk to one of our representatives on phone.
​
Step 2: Our clinic representative will communicate with you via email for more information.
​
Step 3: If you are interested to proceed further, you pay the application fee of ₹500 and wait for our confirmation.
​
Step 3: After we receive your application fee, we let you complete your application.
​
Step 4: Once you have received an acceptance letter, you are expected to pay a non-refundable deposit of ₹2,000.
Step 5: Once you have completed other documentation work and formalities, your training begins.
​
​
How your application is processed:
The internship at ACRO is highly recommended for students and early career professionals. Once you've completed the application process, you will receive a confirmation in less than four weeks.
​
Fee:
The fees may be subjected to an increase every academic year, in line with ACRO terms and conditions. We are able to provide only one package to all interns. Terms and conditions apply.

Fee waiver and scholarships:
Potential students who possess exceptional skills and talents in the field of mental health will be exempted from paying a certain amount of fees. Students are selected based on their talent and not on academic achievements or laurels. Terms and conditions apply.

Accreditation and certification:
The certificate you receive post the completion of the programme is not accredited by any regulatory body in India but is issued by the ACRO clinic only. The programme initiates you to acquire skills and understand mental health professional practices in India.
